During the month of April I have been busy. I have worked in my mixed-media journal, worked
on an art magazine challenge piece and started back with my classes at New Hampshire
Institute of Art.
In my art journaling, I created a new piece of mixed-media work.
I received a fancy napkin from my Mom,
it has the birds on It – shown on the right hand side, which I used as part of
the background. I also used some text papers and lined paper for the
background. I had an outline of the bird and a wooden flower
and leaf that I painted, placed them together and ended with this look. I like the way it turned out.
Dia de los Meurtos Skull Challenge
Also during this month, I finished creating the piece for
the art Dia de los Meurtos inspired challenge
that is with the magazine Cloth Paper
Scissors, which I will submit into their contest to be published. It is
part of their Calaveras challenge entry, mixed-media skull; hopefully, it will
be chosen for the challenge. I enjoyed
doing a little research to find out more about Dia de los Meurtos celebration,
which is the celebration for the Day of the Dead.
