I began on Monday my online classes for my Masters. I am liking the way the
program is set up, better than I realized. Still it is a lot of reading and
writing. The professors’ ask to utilize
what happens in my own classroom, well that is difficult, as I don’t have my
own classroom, just two weeks in summer
with each group of kids. Although, I always
have my daughters creating art joining me in my art space.

Front and Back Cover – Handmade mini-book |
I teach in community education classes for summer time and I don’t have a
great deal time with the students, only 2 weeks for 3 1/2 hrs each day – is not enough time to really know where the students
are at, if they have absorbed what we went over. I do know, they benefit from the enjoyment in
the projects, they take them home each time and excitement is in the air when
we resume the next day.
On Wednesday this past week, Aug 21st, I moved my oldest daughter into Keene State
College . . . she was excited, nervous and reluctant to stop hugging me when it
was time for me to go. She has been keeping me informed and will be auditioning
for the college theater’s musical show. I hope she gets a good part, it will be
great for her.

Consequently working on art this past week was
sidetracked . . . and this week my
other 2 daughters start school and sports . . . creating art might be on the
small side this week. I am still working
on the Alice Down the Rabbit Hole handmade book, using some of Lewis Carroll’s
wording . . . I decided to create my own version of the Alice characters –
maybe a bit more modern, but the mixed-media handmade booklet is coming out fine.
